Every circle is a group of police incidents reported in West Sac from January 2025 through March 20, 2026. The number is how many, and the color is the most common type: property, violent, drugs, DUI, or other. Zoom in to break circles apart, and tap one for details. Locations are by block, not exact address. Purple lines are City Council districts; tap inside one to see who represents you and how to reach them.
Why it stops in March: the city's public crime data hasn't updated since March 20, 2026. If you want it back, say so at City Hall.
Data: City of West Sacramento open data (WSPD). Mapped by BEST SAC.
Speak up at City Hall.
Reporting fixes one problem. Showing up changes what the city prioritizes. City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1110 W. Capitol Ave., 2nd floor.
In person: fill out a Request to Speak card at the Council Chambers entrance and hand it to the City Clerk.
By email: send your comment before 3:30 p.m. on meeting day. It goes to council and staff but isn't read aloud.
Watch live: the city's YouTube channel, Astound channel 20, or AT&T channel 99. Agendas and live stream
Know your council member: look up your district and email your rep directly. Find your council member
Vote November 3, 2026: City Council Districts 3 and 4 are on the ballot. Register by October 19, or register and vote the same day at a Yolo County vote center. Yolo County voting info
Get help, give help.
If you or someone near you is struggling, here's who to call. Save these in your phone.
Overdose or emergency: call 911. California's Good Samaritan law protects people who call 911 for an overdose from arrest for small amounts of drugs, so don't wait.
Crisis or thoughts of suicide: call or text 988, 24/7. Veterans: dial 988, then press 1.
Yolo County Mental Health Crisis Line: (888) 965-6647, 24/7.
Housing, food, and local services: dial 2-1-1. Free, 24/7, any language.
Not an emergency: West Sac Police and Fire dispatch, (916) 372-3375.
Give help: carry Narcan. It reverses an opioid overdose and is safe to use even if you're not sure. Get it free, with fentanyl test strips, from the Yolo County wellness vending machine at 500 Jefferson Blvd., Building B lobby (Mon to Fri, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), or buy it over the counter at any pharmacy.
Lend a hand.
Making West Sac better isn't just City Hall's job. Here's where neighbors are pitching in right now.
This week: Rock the Block, Oct 9 and 10. Habitat for Humanity volunteers repair and spruce up West Sac homes, based at Holy Cross Parish, 1321 Anna St. Sign up with Habitat
Ongoing: Yolo Food Bank. Help hand out groceries to West Sac families at the Walk-Up Market at City Hall or the Drive-Thru Distribution at Alyce Norman.
Every September: Coastal Cleanup Day. West Sac neighbors clean up the riverfront as part of California's statewide cleanup. Save the date for next year.
Join your neighbors.
The West Sacramento - Southport Neighborhood group on Facebook is where neighbors keep each other in the loop: safety alerts, lost pets, city news, local events, and who to call for what.
The more of us who show up there, the faster problems get spotted and the louder our voice is at City Hall. It's free. Tap the button and ask to join.
